We want Harvest to be an open, welcoming space for everyone. We’re committed to a harassment-free experience, regardless of gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, political opinion, age, appearance, weight, ability, or level of experience. These are part of our Health & Conduct guidelines.

Consent

Consent applies to every interaction at Harvest, physical, sexual, and otherwise. Here’s what we mean by it:

  • Consent is Core. It’s one of our most important values, not an afterthought.
  • Consent is Conscious. You have to be alert, clear-headed, and fully present to give it.
  • Consent is Clear. It’s an enthusiastic yes. Not silence, not a maybe.
  • Consent is Specific. Saying yes to one thing doesn’t mean yes to everything. Each new step needs its own yes.
  • Consent is Ongoing. You can stop or change your mind anytime, even after saying yes.
  • Consent is Coercion-free. No manipulation, pressure, or threats. Just a free choice.

If someone says no, or seems unsure, that’s the answer. Respect it. Don’t ask them to explain.

Community Behaviour

Examples of behaviour that contributes to creating a positive environment include:

  • Welcoming and inclusive language.
  • Respecting viewpoints and experiences that differ from your own.
  • Gracefully being receptive to and accepting constructive criticism.
  • Focusing on what is best for the community.
  • Showing empathy towards others.
  • Helping those in need.

Examples of unacceptable behaviour include:

  • The use of sexualized language and unwelcome sexual attention or advances.
  • Trolling, insulting/derogatory comments, and personal or ideological attacks.
  • Harassment of any kind, in public or private.
  • Excessive intoxication.
  • Theft or willful mistreatment of personal property.
  • Violence of any kind.
