Planning
Bring 10 L of water. Do not bring anything that would detract from the weekend’s enjoyment. ABSOLUTELY NO GLASS. We recommend using a trolley or wagon and packing light, yet check the weather forecast.
Download your e-ticket on your phone at home or print it. Don’t expect data for email, Messenger, etc. Tell your loved ones beforehand. Our arrival overloads the local cell phone tower, although some providers peek through.
Ticket Reselling – If you have other plans or have a sore throat or fever, then please resell your ticket at cost through your network or by using our Ticket Exchange service. We love you. See you at the next party.
Arriving
Harvest Gate Procedures – Gate opens Friday at 2 pm. Have your ticket or e-ticket ready to show. If arriving at night, please turn the dark mode off (On iOS, say “Hey Siri, turn off Dark Mode” or on Android, see Settings app > Display > Dark Mode) and turn the brightness up. Follow the directions of the staff and park as close to the next car as possible on the north side. All RVs will park by the gatehouse and castle. SUVs/trucks will unhitch and park in the parking lot.
Part of your ticket costs go to the local food bank. Please donate at the gatehouse after parking if you wish to give more. We are NOT taking canned food.
Camping
1) Preparation
Please review the Packing & Meal Checklist
See the list and check the weather before leaving. The fall equinox is near. Be prepared for cold nights, hot days, dew, rain and even mud. BRING 10 LITRES OF WATER!
2) Set up camp: Set up camp upon arrival so you can enjoy the festival. The quietest area to camp is also the main area for camping, Crash, at the bottom left of the map. Porta-potties are on the path by the main camping areas, near the barge, and in the parking field up from the Thermodome. Meet your neighbours. For safety reasons, there are no camping tents, chairs, or loitering or idling in the car parking areas. Leave no trace and respect the land.
3) Portapottie Etiquette: Close the lid after use, aim carefully, and only dispose of bodily waste and toilet paper; no trash or other items. They are emptied on a regular basis.
4) Departure: A designated driver should have 8 hours of sleep before departure and hopefully have a co-pilot to chat with. Be out by 4 pm on Monday. Prepare for police checks on the road.
RV/Campers/Trailers
The allowable generator run times are Friday, Saturday, and Monday: 12 pm-4 am (off with music). Sunday: 12 pm-7:30 pm (off with music). Please respect the health and safety of RV neighbours in the parking lot. Your RV must have a decent capacity 12-volt battery system, a propane refrigerator, and a stove. Generators must not exceed noise levels greater than 60 decibels from 50 feet.
Meal Options
1. Plan your meals for the four days. Keep it social. Consider teaming up with friends.
2. Food Vendors: Pulled Pork BBQ Smoke House (food stand and pre-paid sit-downs), The Banger Truck, Sara’s Soups & Special Things Truck, plus trail-side pop-ups from Animal Liberation Kitchen and ChocoSol Traders.
3. Midlothian Valley Farm may be open to offer fresh, on-site produce and more. Find it beside the gatehouse near the Screaming Heads merchandise stand.
Health & Conduct
Health & Conduct Guidelines – We individually and as a group have a responsibility to: Eat well, get plenty of sleep, drink lots of water, and leave no trace. Excess leads to a mess, so please moderate yourself and look out for your friends. Always practise consent. If you have a sore throat or a fever, please stay home and pass your ticket on to a friend.
Security and Life-Safety Team – These men and women are trained to handle diverse situations, from CPR to de-escalation and sensitivity training. They work closely alongside event management, the property owner, EMR and Harvest Haven so we can focus on enjoying the weekend.
Harvest Haven is a 24-hour, dedicated, confidential support place and team located next to the EMS and across from the Thermodome. Come for a quiet rest in our plounge space, find support, offerings, warm up or cool down, or receive a nutritious snack.
